The Philadelphia Union have reportedly come to an agreement regarding the naming rights of their newly-built soccer stadium in Chester. According to SportsBusiness Journal, the club has reached a multi-year agreement with Pennsylvania Power & Light that will allow the name of the Allentown-based energy company to be incorporated into the team’s stadium name. The deal is said to be worth $20 million over the next 10 years.Scheduled to be completed in late spring or early summer, the Union’s home stadium will have a capacity of 18,500 for soccer games and 26,000 for concerts. It is located on the Delaware River waterfront about 15 miles from downtown Philadelphia and will play host to 40-50 events each year. Starting in 2011, the arena will also be the home of the Philadelphia Independence, a WPS expansion team.
