AM Links: 01/07 - Beckham, Chris Wingert, Adu, TFC

* Could David Beckham find himself playing as a defender for AC Milan? It's a possibility...

* Got nothing to do tonight and want to help an MLS player raise money for charity? Real Salt Lake defender Chris Wingert is hosting a party at Redemption in New York City (53rd & 2nd Ave.) as part of the Athletes For Hope challenge. One-hundred percent of the event's $10 cover charge goes straight to charity.

* Forget the Obama "Birther" controversy. The San Diego Union-Tribune's Mark Zeigler wants to see Freddy Adu's birth certificate immediately. He theorizes that the one-time teenage superstar is actually a few years older than he claims, which would explain why he has reached the limits of his growth while other players supposedly around the same age continue to develop. Hmmm...

* If Toronto FC misses the playoffs for a fourth-straight season, at least they will be doing it in style this time around. The club has announced a partnership with European fashion icon Dirk Bikkembergs that will have them outfitted in the designer's suits at official team appearances.
