"We would like to thank Leo Percovich for his service to our club," said Stephen Hamilton, Chivas USA Vice President of Soccer Operations. "He has been an important part of the team for the past two seasons, and we wish him the best in his new position."
Percovich, 41, had been with Chivas USA since the start of the 2008 MLS season, spending the last two years on Preki's staff while working with netminders including US international Brad Guzan and 2009 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year Zach Thornton. Prior to joining Chivas, he spent two season as goalkeeper coach for the Colorado Rapids (2006-07).
"Leo and Preki worked well together at Chivas, and like we said from the beginning when we hired Preki, if he wanted to bring his own guy in we would let him," said Toronto FC Director of Soccer Mo Johnston. "I think Leo will mesh very well with the existing staff we have here."
