- Bobby Boswell (D - Houston Dynamo)
Boswell is the anchor of the best defense in Major League Soccer - Houston has given up just nine goals in 14 games this season and Boswell has been on the field for every minute. In addition to his defensive responsibilities, Boswell's size and finishing ability also make him a savory target on set pieces.

- Brad Davis (M - Houston Dynamo)
Many thought that Brad Davis would get a look from Bob Bradley in this tournament. A natural left-sided player, Davis currently leads the league in assists with seven and also has two goals in 14 games this season.

- Geoff Cameron (D - Houston Dynamo)
Another Dynamo player who has excelled, Cameron has grown into a surprisingly solid central defender for Houston in just his second season in the league. Noted for his versatility (having played virtually every position on the field except 'keeper), Cameron's speed has really impressed me lately - a few weeks back, I remember him making up a ton of ground to catch Patrick Nyarko and tackle the ball away.

- Chris Pontius (F - DC United)
Sticking with the young guys, I'm not exactly sure how Sam Cronin gets the call before Chris Pontius. A strong, aggressive forward, Pontius has all the tools to become a leading goal-scorer in MLS for many years to come. He has already found the back of the net four times this season and is the leading Rookie of the Year candidate in the minds of many (including myself).

- Josh Wolff (F - Kansas City Wizards)
At one time a permanent fixture with the USMNT, Wolff has been overlooked once again for the Gold Cup. He is one of the leading goal-scorers in Major League Soccer and has earned several awards this season, including twice being name MLS Player of the Week. He has the experience and the skills to help the US in a tournament like this, but will again not be included.

Is there anyone I missed who you think should have gotten called up for the Gold Cup? Any of those listed above who you think aren't deserving?

Brian Carroll from The Crew should be up there, in my opinion. And maybe Edson Buddle.
I think the Houston players mentioned above were left off because several other Houston players had already been called up for the Gold Cup- Hainault, Holden, and Ching.
Chris Pontius has plenty time to prove himself.
Boswell and Cameron should have got at look. They must be victims of playing on a great team and bad timing. If they would have been called up, because of injuries and other callups, the Dynamo would have had only two defenders PERIOD(both of which have a combined 1 start this season) on their roster for Sundays game vs the Galaxy.
