Tuesday Morning Stew

What kind of drills is Bob Bradley putting the USMNT through in Carson? There have been more casualties in this particular camp than any other one in recent memory. The latest to pick up injuries are MLS Defender of the Year Chad Marshall (right knee) and Rookie of the Year Sean Franklin (groin strain). Former DC United ‘keeper Troy Perkins will also be AWOL for a few days to take part in a “team-bonding exercise” with his Norwegian club Valerenga. Chivas USA netminder Dan Kennedy will train with the team in Perkins’ absence.

FC Dallas midfielder Marcelo Saragosa (pictured) has experienced some additional setbacks in his quest for a green card, but the Brazilian should be able to put this issue behind him in a few weeks time, hopefully…

The Los Angeles Galaxy continue to scour the world for help in patching together a respectable backline for 2009; Honduran defender Osman Chavez seems a likely acquisition for the club, says Goff.

Reigning MLS Cup champions Columbus are one of only a handful of MLS teams opting to go overseas as part of their pre-season training. The Crew will spend a little over a week in England, with games scheduled against the Everton and Liverpool reserve teams in the first week of March.

And finally, the Houston Chronicle’s Bernardo Fallas reports that Pachuca president Jesus Martinez is suggesting to members of the Mexican media that the club has secured an MLS expansion franchise in the soccer hotbed that is Orlando, FL. Scheduled to begin play in 2010 - or so Martinez claim - the club will be known as Orlando Tuzos USA.
