Brazilian club Internacional has confirmed that the side rejected a $10 million offer in November for Argentinean midfielder Andres D’Alessandro from the Los Angeles Galaxy. The attempted move has raised eyebrows in MLS, as it would seem to indicate that the club is actively searching for a replacement for U.S. star Landon Donovan, who has one foot out the door to either Bayern Munich or Everton, depending on which day of the week it is.“The offer came from the Los Angeles Galaxy of the United States. I didn’t even want to listen to the details,” said Fernando Carvalho, the club’s VP and former president. “The offer was for more money than we paid for D’Alessandro, who arrived here for five million euros, but we want to keep the Argentinean.”
D’Alessandro, 27, is an Argentinean attacking midfielder who started his career with River Plate and has made stops in England, Germany and Spain during his career. His personal achievements include helping Internacional to their first Copa Sudamericana title earlier this year and being capped 26 times for the Albicelestes since 2001.
