Fire Get Past Revs, Finally

New England Revolution 0 – Chicago Fire 3
* Chicago Fire advance 3-0 on aggregate

For the first time in four post-season meetings, the Chicago Fire have knocked the New England Revolution out of the playoffs, advancing by a score of 3-0 on a rainy Thursday night at Toyota Park. With the win, Chicago punched their ticket to the Eastern Conference Championship, led by another strong performance from “Mr. November” Chris Rolfe, who had a goal and an assist in the win. A pair of defenders - Wilman Conde and Gonzalo Segares - scored insurance goals in the second half and 2008 Goalkeeper of the Year Jon Busch posted a shutout.

Chicago will now have to wait until Saturday to find out who their next opponent will be, as they will face the winner of the Columbus Crew/Kansas City Wizards series, which is tied 1-1 after the first leg.

Scoring:
CHI – Chris Rolfe 1 (unassisted) 47’+
CHI – Wilman Conde 1 (Justin Mapp) 49’
CHI – Gonzalo Segares 1 (Chris Rolfe) 74’
