Cristman Traded To Wizards

The Kansas City Wizards have acquired young forward Adam Cristman from the New England Revolution in exchange for allocation money and Kansas City’s natural third-round pick in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft, the teams announced this afternoon.Cristman, 23, was selected in the fourth round of the ’07 SuperDraft (48th overall) by New England and went on to break into the first team in his rookie season, scoring four goals and four assists on his way to being named a finalist for the 2007 Gatorade Rookie of the Year award. He followed that up with another solid campaign in ‘08, scoring six times and adding an assist, though his playing time was negatively impacted by injuries.

“There are a lot of good players on Kansas City’s roster,” said Cristman. “I look forward to learning the system, settling in and making an impact. I am from Virginia and I have always lived in coastal towns, but my wife and I look forward to experiencing new things in Kansas City.”
