Revs Draft Pick Scotland-Bound

Michael Videira, a two-time Hermann Trophy finalist and second-round draft pick of the New England Revolution, has officially signed with Hamilton Academical of the Scottish Premier League. The former all-New England midfielder was one of a trio of signings announced Friday by "The Accies", who were just promoted to the SPL for this season. Though Videira, a native of Milford, Massachusetts, did not suit up for the club's game against Hearts on Saturday, he scored a goal in the reserve team's 3-0 win over Caley Thistle yesterday.

The Revolution had anticipated that the 22-year-old would look overseas, as he is of Portuguese decent and has a European passport, but took the risk of drafting him 18th overall anyway. In the event that the former Duke star decides to come back to America to play, the Revs will hold his rights.
