Red Bull Arena Website Launched

If you've ever wanted to check in on the day-to-day progress of construction at Red Bull Arena, there is a now a website that should keep you pretty informed and up-to-date. Red Bull New York has launched a site - www.RedBullArena.us - that includes all of the key design information and even has a link to a webcam firmly trained on the Harrison, NJ site, so people can watch as the stadium gets built from the ground up.
Steel construction began at the site on August 20th, and the steel erector has completed setting the columns, beams and steel floor decking for the North half of the West building. On Thursday, September 4th, workers began assembling a 275-ton crawler crane that will be used to set the lower bowl structural steel beginning early next week. Work also continues on underground utilities both inside the stadium building and in the adjacent proposed plaza and parking areas.

Originally scheduled to open in late 2008, various construction and other delays have forced that date to be moved back to late 2009 instead. When completed, the stadium will have a capacity of 25,189, making it the second-largest soccer-specific stadium in the league behind the Home Depot Center - home to the Los Angeles Galaxy and Chivas USA.
