"Michael's an accomplished passer of the ball and an excellent link-up player who also does a lot of running off the ball," said Borussia boss Jos Luhukay. "He's also a threat with shots from outside the penalty area."
The son of U.S. Men's National Team head coach Bob Bradley, Michael has been extremely busy over the past few months, having been called up several times for the senior national team while also playing on the U-23 Olympic squad which qualified for Beijing before being eliminated in the group stage. In early 2006, Bradley transferred to Heerenveen from the New York/New Jersey MetroStars for $100,000, becoming the youngest MLS player ever to be sold. As part of that deal, there was a sell-on clause, meaning that Major League Soccer and the New York Red Bulls should be getting a healthy sum of cash for Bradley's transfer to Germany.
Bradley played two full seasons in the Netherlands, making 52 appearances in all in the Eredivisie. His most recent season proved him to be a breakout success after he netted 15 goals in 30 games - the highest goal-scoring total ever by an American-born player in a European first-division.
