Galaxy Post-Season Plans

Details for the Los Angeles Galaxy's 2008 post-season tour are starting to emerge. Despite the fact that Los Angeles hasn't won a match in nearly three months, are currently outside the final MLS playoff spot and have a lot of work to do if they are to make the postseason, club officials are busy scheduling exhibition games around the world for this coming off-season.

The Auckland Regional Council has confirmed that David Beckham and the Galaxy will be in New Zealand on Saturday, December 6th, to play against an invitational team from Oceania. The match has been confirmed by ARC Parks general manager Lance Vervoort and will take place at the 30,000-capacity Mt Smart Stadium in Auckland.
Last year's post-season tour of the region also saw the Galaxy make a stop in New Zealand, beating the A-League's Wellington Phoenix by a 4-1 scoreline. In that game, Beckham scored on a late penalty kick to add to strikes from Clint Mathis, Landon Donovan and Carlos Pavon. The match's attendance of 31,853 set a record for largest attendance at a soccer match in New Zealand.
