Battle For The Rio Grande Plate

FC Dallas has announced that the return leg of the Rio Grande Plate will be held at Pizza Hut Park on Tuesday, October 14th. The friendly home-and-away series against Mexican club Tigres UANL started between the two clubs in 2006, with FCD prevailing in penalty kicks that year after the clubs ended regulation tied 2-2 on-aggregate.

Tigres responded in 2007 with a 3-0 victory on-aggregate to take the plate back to Monterrey. In this year's edition, it was Tigres who got off to a good start in the first leg, winning their home match by a score of 2-1 back in February.FC Dallas has had a loaded schedule of friendlies this year, winning three out of those five exhibitions so far. Two of their victories were earned against Atletico Paranaense, including one at Kyocera Arena in Curtiba, Brazil; the other win came when the Hoops defeated Club America earlier this month. Besides losing to Tigres in February, FCD has also dropped a 2-1 result to Chivas Guadalajara in June.
