FCD's Sikora Out 4-6 Weeks

FC Dallas midfielder Victor Sikora has suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee and will miss 4-6 weeks of action, according to club officials. The injury occurred during FCD’s 1-1 draw against Kansas City on Saturday when the former Ajax star was tackled by the Wizards’ Sasha Victorine just minutes into the second half. He required a substitution shortly thereafter.
Sikora has made two appearances for the Hoops – both starts - since signing with the club earlier this month. Prior to the injury, Coach Schellas Hyndman had many good things to say about his newest acquisition, grading the midfielder on his first performance with the club in their game at Columbus.

“It’s a physical league, new environment, new team, on the road and [assistant coach John] Ellinger and I looked at each other a couple of times and said he could be our Designated Player,” said Hyndman. “He did so many really good things for us.”

Dallas will hope to have Sikora back in time for their final handful of games this season, as they continue their fight for a playoff spot in the crowded Western Conference. FC Dallas welcomes the red-hot Columbus Crew to town this Saturday.
